SKIN 101: POLYGLUTAMIC ACID

SKIN 101: POLYGLUTAMIC ACID

This is your plumping skin filter

It´s the newest buzziest skincare ingredient. That´s what you need to know.

WHAT IS POLYGLUTAMIC ACID (PGA)?

PGA is an amino acid. Polyglutamic acid is created when lots of glutamic acid molecules are linked together.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • it helps seal the moisture in your skin, and enhances the skin’s elasticity
  • it reduces the appearance of wrinkles and pores
  • it replenishes cell moisture
  • it can hold 10 times more water than hyaluronic acid

"The aging process involves the loss of hyaluronic acid in the skin, which is broken down by an enzyme called hyaluronidase. Products that contain PGA help to inhibit the action of hyaluronidase, resulting in more hyaluronic acid in the skin, which leads to a more youthful appearance" Dr. Timm Golueke

WHEN IS PGA BEST TO USE?

You can use PGA morning and night. It works nicely with other skincare ingredients, especially hyaluronic acid and vitamin C.
